bluewater days 2010: day one

The drive to New Mexico was loooong. Let me tell you. But it's nice to be up here in the fresh air! We sang songs, read books, played "Peekaboo Barn" on my iPhone and watched "Lambert the Sheepish Lion" (watch it, you won't be sorry) to keep this little fellow happy. Is there anything more perfect than a sleeping baby? Sorry for the lame-o iPhone pictures.

William and I have been mighty sick the last few days and I was considering not coming at all in case he got worse (civilization is almost 30 miles away) but we're both on the mend.

When we pulled through the front gate of the ranch I took Will our of his carseat and let him look out the window. He was thrilled to see this new landscape.
It is green and beautiful here this year and we've already had a wonderful thunderstorm. Is there anything better than summer rain in the desert? Most of the family is arriving over the next two days and I can't wait until we're all together to make s'mores over the campfire and sing songs, watch the kids do a silly skit they've worked so hard to prepare and do our annual fireworks show to a movie theme playlist my brother-in-law makes every year.

  3. "Laaaaambert, the sheepish lion.... Laaaaambert, he's always cryin'..."

That movie is an Ingram family classic.
