never enough pictures

This girl. She melts me into a big pool of ghee (anybody else love this book?). Sorry for the photo overload here but the other day I took a bunch of pictures of her and when I finally uploaded them onto my computer, I couldn't stop gushing. She is so much fun. She is delightful and adorable and funny and happy. I want her to be little forever. It's fun to see her learning things and to hear her raspy voice say words. I love watching my kids grow but sometimes I wish I could go back, just for a day or two, to when Will was a baby and Fritz was a baby and Louisa was a newborn. Sometimes, I wish I could go back to when David and I were childless for the day (maybe I wished this yesterday when I was scooping poop out of the bathtub) or back to when I was a child myself and didn't have a care in the world, except which popsicle flavor I wanted after spending the entire day in the pool. I guess that's why I take so many pictures. I love photography because it's a creative expression but I also love to look back at pictures to help me remember the milestones, the toothless grins, the destinations, the journey. I can't go back for the day but these pictures let me live in the moment. It's a beautiful gift.
