holiday crunch

I don't know why my family calls it "Holiday Crunch" but whatever the reason - it's amazing. While we were up at the cabin last weekend, Lela and I renamed it "coconut chocolate sugar crack"... or something. I can't remember the full name but I know it had "crack" in it because this stuff is addicting! It's best made for an event, like a holiday (hence the name), because it makes a lot and tastes so good that you might find yourself eating the whole big bowl yourself. Whether or not you regret that decision is up to you... Enjoy!
6 cups Golden Grahams
6 cups Corn Chex
1 medium bag (about 2 cups) mini m&ms
1/2 cup sliced almonds
3 cups shredded sweetened coconut
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup butter

Mix cereals, coconut, almonds and m&ms together in a large paper grocery bag. Melt butter, sugar and corn syrup in a saucepan over medium high heat. Let boil for 2 minutes. Pour evenly over mixture and stir. Close bag and shake until evenly covered.

  2. My version doesn't have the mini M&Ms but I like that idea. Oh and mine is referred to as "heaven."
