When we were in Denmark (Bornholm, specifically) my sister found a little shop in town on our last day there. It was full of beautiful trinkets and souvenirs that were Danish-made. Unfortunately, she found it just as we were all packing up to leave so I didn't get a chance to go there. She showed me all her spoils and when she pulled out the cutest little matchbox mouse for her daughter, Clara, I was in deep envy. They are the sweetest little linen mice with a tiny pillow and knitted blanket. When we stopped in El Centro to visit David's family a couple of weeks ago, David's oldest sister pulled out the exact matchbox mouse but in boy form. William loved it and took it to bed with him. When I got back home, I realized that they were made by Maileg and that I could buy it online. Of course, it would be much cooler had I been able to buy them in Denmark but the connection is still there. :) The other night I surprised him with it and made him close his eyes before he opened it up. As soon as his eyes opened he said, "It's my little mouse!"
How sweet... William & the Mouse. :)
