fritz's first trim

My baby is almost one and his hair was looking rather scraggly. A huge rats nest sat in the back of his head and I hadn't been able to brush it out in weeks. He was also starting to sport a righteous mullet so it was time. It breaks my heart just a little bit that he's getting to be such a big boy.

Tonight I was reading him a story before bed and on one page was a picture of a lion. I said, "The lion says 'RAWR'!" and he burst into hysterical laughter and then copied me and said, "RAWR!" and then busted up laughing again at himself. We did this about 5 more times and it was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.  I love watching his personality develop. He is a completely different boy than William and I love his uniqueness.

Speaking of lions, let's get back to trimming this boy's mane. I pulled out the clippers, gave him a wrapped fruit leather to keep him distracted and went to work.

It started out painless enough. He didn't seem too bothered by the loudness of the clippers.

And then he was like, "What's your problem, yo!?" and got really ticked. Needless to say, it's not a perfect haircut but he's a baby so whatever. Also, let's be honest. It's not only an imperfect haircut because he's a baby but also because I have almost no idea what I'm doing . . . and yet, I continue to cut my boys' hair.

He still looks really cute!
And yes, I look really tired. Probably because I am.

  2. Cute!!! It always amazes me that you're always dressed and your hair is done. I have no kids and can't seem to make that happen everyday!
