bbc makes goodies

Greatest news, you guys! I was purusing through Netflix Instant Play the other day and saw that they now have Little Dorrit (2008 BBC version)! If you like period-piece dramas and are going through Downton Abbey withdrawls at the moment (aren't we all?), feast your eyes on this one. It's one of my very favorite romances (next to Persuasion) and while it's a bit dark, as it's Dickens, it has such wonderful characters that you love so much and others that you loathe. And the love story . . . the love story! I didn't care for Matthew Macfayden as Mr. Darcy but he is perfection in this movie. It's a bit creepy, a bit mysterious, a bit tragic and a whole lot of wonderful. Trust me. Watch it. Here's a trailer.
Other BBC favorites:
Wives & Daughters
Cranford
Daniel Deronda (*might taint your love for Lord Grantham)

  1. Mike and really like Sherlock. It's the modern take on the old Sherlock Holmes stories. Absolutely enthralling! They are about 1 1/2 hours long and there's only 6 right now, but more are in the making.
