baby crack

Yes, sometimes when I'm making dinner and my little boy is trying to climb up my legs I turn on Baby Einstein's Baby Shakespeare, take off his sticky pants and sit him down in front of the television. So sue me (no, don't).
Does this make me a bad mother? Cause I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

  1. I can't tell you how much I ache for the day that my crazy toddler will sit and watch TV so I can do this exact same thing while making dinner!

  2. too funny...sadie has the same look on her face when she watches baby einstein as william does in your pic! as long as it's educational, i'm fine with it...plus sometimes mama just needs a break ;)

  3. Both my girls have been babysat by Baby Einstein at one time or another. We really like the Wordsworth one. Our girls knew a lot of simple sign language before they could talk (which helps a ton)and it gave them a vocabulary to start of with when they did start talking. Baby Einstein is a powerful parenting tool. I definitley don't blame you.

  5. I haven't seen Baby Einstein (my children are 22, 20 & nearly 14 ;o) ) but I'm sure it won't hurt William to watch it while you're busy making dinner and it's amazing what they pick up from TV programmes. I think you're doing a great job of being a Mum!
Can I also just say, I LOVE that chair behind William, so cute!
    Have a great weekend :o)

  6. All of my girlfriends do the same thing and they all ask the same question, so I think you are in good company. (I don't have kids, so I can't speak from experience).

  7. I wish my little girl was entertained by such things. I usually have to give her water-downed juice, which is a precious thing here.

  8. No way. I save my kids' TV show all day so that I can use it to my own advantage while I make dinner! I don't think Iris would like it nearly as much if her big brother and sister weren't such fans.

(We love the Backyardigans, though! You simply must try them).

  11. I keep a stash of crackers next to the stove, so I can make meals. TV does not work with my little ones. If I give them something to nibble on, though, I can usually buy myself a few minutes or at least until they want another cracker!

  12. We've all done it, and if anyone says otherwise they are lying. :) Sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do!

  13. I never had Baby Einstein, but I did have Signing Times and Veggie Tales (and the Veggie Tales were really more for me...I think they are hilarious!).
