m + a get married: the best parts

Everything about the wedding was nearly perfect (except when the boutonnieres that I ordered from darling Etsy shop, Peppermint Cloud, didn't arrive - no fault of hers though - and don't forget the unfortunate cake experience of 2010) but overall, it was a lovely day.

Here are some of the highlights, if you ask me (or my blog).
the married couple exits the temple.
Marcus's face during the ceremony brought me to tears. Ashley's mother passed around tissues before the ceremony started and I thought, "What do I need this for? I didn't even cry at my own wedding!" Well, by golly, I did cry as soon as Marcus looked at Ashley with what Stephanie acronymed as IHEL. I've never seen my little brother look so intense, so encompassed and so passionate. He really loves his Ashley.

I loved how they did a sweet, simple ring ceremony before dinner began. Marcus read something he wrote on his iPod (classic) and it was so perfect. Then Ashley read an emotional and creative bit and had many of us in tears again. I love the way they looked shyly at each other through the whole thing.

And I love how Ashley kept stealing kiss after kiss - like she could never let him go. It reminded me of how I felt the day I married David.
our table. mismatched china, embroidered napkins, gold flatware and vintage goblets.
I loved the personal details of the reception decor. Ashley's vision really came to life and I think it was so charming and a perfect reflection of their tastes. I was happy to see that she had assigned seating and that she had strategically placed us interspersed with her family members (very classy). I loved that she included a bit about each of our names.

Because of the whole "moon" story (which my dad even mentioned in his toast) I love this photo.
thankful for the moon. it was extra bright that night.
My brother took all the rest of these amazing pictures. He is the bomb.

I especially love this one.
