house tour: living room

The purpose of this blog is to document my life story through activities, recipes, stories and photographs. I feel strongly that we should all have a way to write down these seemingly "mundane" day-to-day things as a way to share what our lives are like to our posterity. In addition to the written word, I also feel like pictures are a wonderful way to share memories over the years. My mother-in-law has reminded me to take photos of things like us in our family car or photos of our home so that we can remember that time of our lives more vividly. I love looking at pictures of my parent's old gray suburban or looking at the background of a family picture to remember my childhood home.

I want to share these pictures because a) some of you might enjoy them and b) I want to remember this little apartment in San Diego where William learned to crawl and walk and many more memories to come! So . . . this is our living room before we moved in:

And after we moved in (I have a couple of projects in this room that I'll post about later this week):

  3. It's amazing what a little decorating can do for an apartment - much more like home than a rental!

  6. Love the doily wall hangings. I saw that idea on a blog a while back and have been waiting to get my hands on some of my grandma's handmade doilies so that I can do the same thing! The apartment looks great!

  7. Thanks everyone!

Amanda: the paint color on the walls is Valspar Signature (at Lowe's) Woodlawn Sterling Blue. I wanted something similar to Restoration Hardware's Silver Sage paint and I think this is really close. As soon as we put it on the walls I was in love.

Are We There Yet?: yes, I painted the water picture. :)
