work christmas party

last weekend, david and I went to my work christmas party at the biltmore resort in phoenix. it was fun to get all "gussied up", as david would say. we ate good food, gambled with raffle tickets and danced to frank sinatra on the dance floor – something we haven't done since we've been married. I didn't think we'd end up going since I was feeling so crummy last week, but I'm glad we did.

david's last days of late night classes has arrived. wahoo! I'm so thrilled. we're going to celebrate by going to dinner tonight and then to the temple lights. since david is being "wined and dined" (not really) by a potential new employer on saturday night, I'll be watching the bbc production of sense & sensibility (and quite possibly persuasion as well because I love that version more than all the clothes in my closet) in my cotton jammies with a mug of cocoa. just typing that makes me excited. I'm even loving arizona right now for having rainy, dreary weather. if only it stays like this for christmas!

in other news, I am done with my christmas shopping . . . and it feels soooooo good. I don't know about you but I get much more excited about what I'm giving than what I'm getting. I can't wait to see the reaction to some of the fantastic gifts I picked out and slaved over!

  1. Oooh, your work party sounds so dreamy!

And I'm with you- I absolutely adore GIVING presents. Do I seriously have to wait 2 weeks more to give my slaved-over-for-a-month-and-a-half gift?? I don't know if I can last. Hold me back, I say! Hold me back!

  3. Oh, I love giving presents! It's the best part of the year.

But my shopping isn't complete so I'm a bit jealous. :) I'll get over it by the end of the weekend. ;)

  4. I didn't know they were showing Persuasion again! Captain Wentworth is the cutest Brit ever and when he finally smiles at the end my heart melts. Will you be mad if I copy you? Cocoa and Persuasion sounds wonderful.

  7. Love your hair at the Biltmore, adore those movies, so sad you were so sick, and covet the stockings. Tally-ho, my dear.
