silent auction for c + s

I love Gabby over at Design Mom for doing this. I cry just thinking about how many people are so gracious out there. I seriously have so much love for everyone that is praying for Christian and Stephanie. I love that people released balloons to show their love and faith. I love that hundreds have been impacted by Stephanie's blog. I love that I have such an amazing brother and sister-in-law.

I'm making more quotes and pretty things to cover their white hospital room walls.

"Never, never, never give up." Winston Churchill

and

"For if there be no faith among the children of men, God can do no miracle among them; wherefore, he showed not himself until after their faith." (Ether 12:12)
are just a couple of quotes that I found comforting. My family all agrees that these quotes need to be updated regularly (to bring peace to Christian and Stephanie, their visitors and the nurses and doctors caring for them). If you have a quote or an inspiring thought please leave it in my comments so that I can use them to brighten the mood in the Burn Center (if you want, you can even leave a little message that I'll put up too!)

Also, since I will most definitely be doing the silent auction (mentioned above) to help raise money for their rehabilitation, I need help deciding which Etsy item would be the most appealing for people to buy/donate to Christian and Stephanie's recovery. Of course (since I'm not amazing like that), I can't recreate exact replicas of my previous artwork, but I can sure try to create something similiar if enough people like it! Please give me some feedback!!!
"Autumn Leaves"?
Bird book?
Custom Alphabet Painting?
"Fields of Blue"?
Don't forget - the auction is on Thursday! I just might have to bid on Sarah's blog for her quilt - delightful stuff!

  2. Hi Liz. My name is Crystal, and I have known Christian since the Franklin days. I just met Stephanie last year at our H.S. Reunion, but also had been reading her blog. I am glad to have found your blog, and to hear things from you too (in addition to CJane's). I know that many have been touched by Stephanie, but Christian is a great guy too. I laughed when I read Stephanie's archives because of the things that brought back memories from the Christian that I knew (ie. I remember him modeling in Elementary school, his obsession with INXS, Twyce Around & other things.) Christian and I were never "buddy, buddy" but I have always respected him. After reading Stephanie's blog I admired the relationship that they shared. They truly are an amazing couple.

One of my favorite quotes is this...

"Every person that God puts into our Lives, EVERY Experience that He gives us...Is the PERFECT preparation for the Future only HE can see."

I still don't understand why this would have to happen to such a wonderful couple. My heart aches knowing what a long road is ahead for all of your families...yet this quote gives me peace knowing that God has prepared the way.

  3. I love Faith Precedes the Miracle.

Christian and Stephanie are in my ward and are good friends. We are so shocked and saddened by their accident and pray for them and their children and the rest of the Nielsons and Clarks. They are such wonderful examples and we love them dearly!

  4. Liz,

I want to think about favorite scriptures and quotes for a while...As for the art work- I definitely think the ABC one will sell the most-it is sooo darling and I would definitely have that up in my child's room (if I had one) and I love the fields of blue because it gives me a feeling of peace and serenity. If I had it, I would think of Christian and Stephanie as an example of how the Lord is in charge and even during trial, he can give peace.

  5. Hey Liz,

My friend, Morgan Moore, is also doing a sale for your brother and sister-in-law. You can see the info at her blog.

She is amazing, and super creative. You may want to donate something to her event as well. I am going to bid on one of her darling treasures.

  11. Hello - My vote is for Fields of Blue, it would look loverly in my kitchen!

I live in NY which is far away, but my heart is across the country with your family and the Clarks. Be strong and know that the Lord loves each of you and is nearby.

I'll be auctioning off a vintagy crocheted shawl which is an off white color and made of yummy, yummy cashmere. Very Nie worthy and made by me, Alissa. I hope I get lots of hits and make a pile of cash for the kids, the house, hospital expenses, most of all for Ms Stephanie & her Mr Nielson.

Love, Love, Love blowing your way.

  13. So sorry to hear about the very traumatic accident. Your cousin Karen T. sent some of us over to these websites. A good quote for the situation is: "It will all be okay in the end. If it is not okay, it is not the end." But I know it doesn't feel that way right now. My prayers are with Christian and Stephanie and family.
