fritz is four!

My Fritzy boy turned four years old on April 1st. It's so cliche to say, but I can't believe he's four! Part of me feels like he's so much older and like he's always been this age but then I remember how he was such a cute little tiny baby and it makes me feel all weepy. Where did my babies go?
Fritz is the best. He is such a great kid. He's brave and tries all kinds of new things, even when he's a little afraid. He is so funny and makes me laugh constantly. He is the most likable person (very like his dad) and makes friends wherever he goes with his twinkly smile and welcoming personality (also, very like his dad). He forgives easily and loves to have fun. He's also determined and loves to work hard and help. He's basically David in little boy form. :)
I asked him what kind of birthday party he wanted and he yelled "dinosaurs!". It's not like he's particularly that into dinosaurs but the boys' newest favorite movie is The Good Dinosaur so that's the direction he went. I think he had a great birthday. He had cousins/friends at the party and was so happy to have all these people there that he loved. He kept hugging everyone really tight and jumping up and down with joy. That's one of the best things about him. Fritz LOVES life. I want to be like him.
David and I stayed up late into the night before and made baking soda dinosaur eggs for a dinosaur egg hunt. Even though they didn't fizz up the way they were supposed to, the kids thought it was really fun to hunt for the eggs and then they just stomped on them and found the mini dinosaurs inside. It was still a hit and required minimal work. :)
I made pulled pork sandwiches, broccoli + kale salad with poppy seed dressing, dinosaur nuggets, fruit salad and chocolate cake with vanilla bean frosting and chocolate chip cookies. The kids got a kick out of the dinosaur eating the chocolate chip cookies. Bless kids for being easily entertained. :)
This is the face of a little boy who is thrilled to have a chocolate cake in front of him, friends all around him and lots of attention. Oh, his smile. He is the cutest!
Happy Birthday my Fritz! I'll love you forever and ever!
