bryant beach days

Every year, David's whole family (I'm talking the entire extended clan - aunts, uncles, cousins and cousins' children) goes to San Diego and stays at these cottages on the beach. They've been doing it for years and years and it's a fun tradition. We've gone every year since we've been married (here's last year's post) and it's a relaxing, balmy time. San Diego has my heart forever and ever. Amen.
I wasn't planning on going this year (you know, having given birth to a baby one month ago and all) but a few days before David and the boys left I decided that I wanted to go. It's been 115 degrees here in Arizona and anything over 72 is too hot in my book, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get out of this heat! The boys loved all the toys and treats that Grandma had. Bubbles, beach toys, juice boxes, cookies and all the love and attention they could ask for! It was a dream come true.

They all told me how much fun the boys had. I never even put one toe on the sand since I had Louisa on me 100% of the time, so I wasn't there to witness it, but they both loved playing in the water and Fritz is a total beach bum. William was much braver than times past and loved to jump in the waves. Big strides for my sweet, cautious son. They were both so tired that they passed right out in the bed with no shirts on, like teenagers!
I got to enjoy the nicer weather and run some errands while the family was at the beach. It was nice to be able to go to the stores I needed to go to with just one baby - you forget how easy one child is! Then on Saturday night, I was able to go out to dinner with my best girl friends. It was so nice to cry, laugh and talk to them. I love them so! Lela loved snuggling her initial twin (LB) and we thoroughly enjoyed the pizza salad sandwich from D Bar. Dang it's good (with added avocado BTW).
Then I took a bunch of adorable pictures of this crazy kid. I love him so much. He has the best smile. I love it - probably because it's David's smile and I fell in love with him because of his twinkly grin almost 10 years ago. Still gives me butterflies.

And Louisa slept like the little angel baby that she is. Bless her.
