all by myself

David went back to work today. Gulp. Three kids is no joke. I've been really lucky to have him home all last week. He did laundry, went to the store, cleaned tons of dishes, single-handedly bathed, fed and cared for the boys while I laid around and nursed Louisa while I watched old episodes of Fraiser on Netflix (how did I not know how funny that show is?). It was wonderful and relaxing and I'm physically feeling pretty great. This has been the easiest recovery I've had so far and I'm glad. I'm determined to be good to my body this time around to see if I can help curb any postpartum depression tendencies that might arise.
This picture cracks me up. I brought Louisa into Fritz's bedroom when I went to get him from his nap and laid her next to him. He kept looking at her and back at me, like, "What am I supposed to do with this thing?" It was very humorous.

Our 4th of July was super low key. David's parents and sister came into town and the boys were in heaven. They played games, read stories, went swimming and we ate homemade chocolate chocolate chip ice cream (my mother-in-law's specialty) on the driveway while the boys did sparklers and some basic fireworks on the lawn. I took a total of zero pictures of the festivities (except for the surplus I took of Louisa on my iPhone), but you'll just have to trust me when I say: good times were had by all.

  3. I definitely sang "all by myself" by Celine Dion while reading that title. ha ha! I wish I was there to help you, Loves! Praying that pesky depression stays away. Love you, Mama! Thank goodness for beautiful snuggly babies to make problems melt away...
