This Father's Day I noticed several people on social media claiming they have the "best husband/father". It made me really happy to hear so many people feel that way about the men in their lives. I also feel so thankful to have a wonderful father who taught me, by
example. He is probably the most diligent and constant person I know. David is also incredibly constant and is a wonderful father to our boys. He's patient, kind, fun and is such an incredible example to them. If my boys grow up to be the kind of man my husband is, I will die happy.

David almost always requests ground beef tacos for his "special occasion" meal. It's kind of funny, but also really nice because it's super easy. Just plain ol' ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and lots of Ortega taco sauce on corn tortillas. Boom. Done. But I forgot to get fresh corn tortillas on Saturday and we don't shop on the Sabbath, so I had to make something else. Luckily, I had everything to make one of David's favorites:
meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Looks and sounds gross but it's delicious.
Then for dessert, I made a lemon bundt cake with coconut glaze. It was yummy and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Marcus and
Ashley came over later and had a slice too and it reminded us of
the cake I made for their wedding but this one is way easier and just as delicious. I'll post the recipe tomorrow.
That cake looks good; can't wait for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteJenniline calls those "white people tacos." Ha ha! Meatloaf and mashed pots is one of my faves. I also love cake...cake, cake, cake...oh how I love thee.
ReplyDeleteFritz's hair is awesome. And that meatloaf looks really yummy to me! I love meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Will you post your meatloaf recipe too? Or maybe it's already on your blog . . . I'll check. :) And wowza, that bundt cake looks gorgeous. Everybody needs a beautiful bundt every now and then, am I right? :) Miss you guys!
