wish I had a camel to carry me

While we were in Arizona a few of the people in my family decided to hike Camelback Mountain in Scottsdale. I haven't done the hike in years and didn't really have any memories of it but since I've been exercising about 6 days a week, and I'm in pretty good shape, I figured I'd be fine. Dudes, this hike is hard. Let's just leave it at that cause seriously, I don't want to talk about it. OK, maybe I'm being a little dramatic . . . but it wasn't easy.
Instead, let's talk about how my funny brother, Stephen, had me in hysterics as we were climbing down the mountain as he quoted Brian Regan almost perfectly (his impression is uncanny!) which was probably kind of dangerous because it is really steep and I had had too much water, if you know what I mean. He also brought his incredible camera and took these great pictures of our hike.
We made up for our hard times by treating ourselves to lunch at one of my favorite places - LGO. My order of garlic sautéed Brussels sprouts made every ache (and that nasty blister on my left heel) practically go away. Mmmm. I'm still dreaming about those!

  1. Very silly question - but can I ask where your leggings are from? I love the length!

    1. Hey! My leggings are from Nordstrom Rack - the brand is Zella. :)

  2. My brother (who is 60) hikes Camelback Mountain every day except Friday. Sometimes he hikes it twice (up and down and back up and down). I'm sure if you're in shape it gets easier!

  3. haha, Camelback mountain is awesome! I never hiked it until Bruce and I came down for a reunion (before we got hitched, I think that's when you met him for the first time, yes?) Anyway, I have an embarrassing story to tell you sometime when the internet isn't listening in, it's hilarious.... but we showered at Peter & Darin's and then ALSO went to LGO. Basically, it was the perfect day :)
