father's day 2011

We spent Father's Day in Chicago and David asked to go to the Signature Room on the 95th floor at the John Hancock building for Sunday brunch. He ate his weight in king crab, caviar, seaweed salad, seared tuna, shrimp, oysters on the half shell . . . and that's just the seafood! I was happy, he was happy and the views were incredible! His gift was at home but I did present him with this card I made at brunch (template from here).
As for David's Father's Day gift, I simply gave him a dozen root beer to sample on Monday night when we celebrated with William at home. I created this little handy sheet (inspired from here) as well as a card that read "A Dozen Drinks for a Devoted Dad" in a frosty mug. He loved it!

  1. I see a Capt. Eli's in there. Wise choice. That's the best root beer I've tried so far.

p.s.- i have also been trying to read more to my two children. I loved your book list on the previous post. My amazon wish list now is standing at $135.00. I might have to buy a couple at a time :)
