cottagey goodness

Oh, this boy of mine.

His favorite food on planet earth is large curd (he's very particularly - no small curd!) cottage cheese. He will eat two pounds in two days. Holy sodium! It could be worse. Every day he goes to the fridge and begs for me to open it. "Mohhhhhh", he says. When I open the door he stands on the ledge and reaches the top shelf to hand me the container. I give him a spoon and he goes to town, artfully shoveling each tiny, white morsel into his baby-bird mouth. I have to admit that I also love cottage cheese so I can't blame him. At least he's getting lots of calcium and protein! Is this normal?

  1. My daughter LOVES cottage cheese. I once tried to buy the low sodium kind and it was a disaster. The benefits outweigh the risks!

  2. I love to read about other cottage cheese lovers...I eat it every morning! I know of practically NO ONE who likes it -- I think those people are nuts. Loved this post, and loved the pictures!

  3. My kids love cottage cheese, but we are more small curd kind of people. Sorry if this means we can't ever be friends. I love to mix it with yogurt. Delicious! Its like vanilla cottage cheese.

  4. I don't know if it's normal or not (we don't eat a lot of cottage cheese, although I like it, and my dad used to eat it with salt and pepper every day) but that boy sure is gorgeous!

  5. My son loved it too. We couldn't keep the stuff in the house... he would eat it at every meal. Now that boy is 14 - strong bones, good teeth, and hasn't touched cottage cheese in ages... we tell him it was all he used to eat and he can't believe it! Go figure!
