seasons

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf,
So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day,
Nothing gold can stay.

  1. This is one of my favorite poems. It is mentioned in two of my favorite movies, too- Splendor in the Grass and The Outsiders. Stevie Wonder made a beautiful song about it. When my 10 year old was a baby, he loved Baby Shakespeare and it just reminded me of that time. Thank you for bringing back memories. I love your recipes and blog. I found your blog through NieNie and have been hooked ever since.
