smiles awake you when you rise

There are these precious moments when my baby is sleeping (usually in our bed) and I think to myself, "I want to remember this always." I wish I could just press a "save" button in my mind so that I could replay these sweet moments when his skin is warm and soft pressed up against my cheek and his breathing is slow and rhythmic while I cuddle him in my arms. Unfortunately I don't have superhuman powers to recall my favorite moments in life (like this and this) so I take pictures instead and post them on this blog because that's the best I can do to help me remember. I will miss taking pictures of him sleeping and trying to quietly sneak around for different, better angles so I can perfectly capture his sweetness (though I never can).
During these photo shoot I inevitably curse my camera for making a loud shutter noise and therefore waking up William who looks just a little bit peeved.

And then he is sweet again.

  1. Beautiful pictures. My babies are so big now, but yes, I remember that special moment when you realize the sweetness and miracle of it all.
    Thanks for sharing!

  2. Of all the wonderful inventions they have in the world, I can't believe that they haven't made all cameras silent.... who wants that noise anyway?

    William is so sweet.

  3. I could eat him. He is a doll!

  4. I feel the same way. I wish there was a save button too because there are so many moments you just wish you could freeze time and be there forever! What a sweet baby! :)
