Sorry about not posting the promised "purse" pictures but I'm still looking for the perfect embellishments to sew on before I put them up for sale on my Etsy shop. I've got to work on that this week. Remind me!
Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my Danish ancestry. One of my projects is going to be painting a Danish flag for our new house (when we get one) - I have some awesome ideas including "Restoration Hardware Blue" walls, striped Roman shades, rich leather, white brick fireplaces and built-in bookcases layered with frames and leathery books. I want to have the Danish flag painted onto thick sketch paper. I'm really proud of my Danish ancestry (as well as my Welsh ancestry from my mother's side).
My great, great, great-Grandfather (left) was born in Polisker Parish of Bornholm, Denmark (an obscure little island in the middle of the Baltic Sea). He was said to be "thin and quite tall with bright red hair and blue eyes. He had a real thick brogue of the Danish." I was lucky enough to go to Bornholm with my parents and two brothers in May 2006. I loved it so much and - to this day - still want to move there.
