starting fresh

Yes, I'm going to be super cliche and post my NY Resolutions on my blog. In my defense I've heard that two key steps to making successful goals are to a) write them down and b) tell someone about it and have them check up on you regularly. So, I'm killing two birds with one stone and doing both by posting it here.

There's something so refreshing about a new year. It reminds me of one of my favorite quotes by the ever-wise Marilla Cuthbert - "Isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?" (quote actually by author L.M. Montgomery) I know that I won't be perfect for even one minute of any of the next 364 days this year but it feels really nice to renew my determination to try.
Lizzy's 2012 Goals:
1. Use my time more wisely (for me, that mostly means limiting my computer and TV time).
2. Improve my over-all health (including reducing my intake of sugar/carbs and exercising 6 days a week).
3. Read the Book of Mormon with my family.

  1. I'm pretty sure Anne says that - plus it doesn't sound like Marilla! ;) happy new year!

  2. I think writting your goals on your blog is the exact right place to write them.

...and for the record it was Miss Stacey (the new amazing, understanding teacher that becomes Anne's inspiration) that said it. Later in the movie both Anne and Marilla refer back to what she says.
