bromance friends

David and his friend, Buddy, have a true bromance going on. They met in college and moved to San Diego at the same time as us and even did a half Ironman Triathlon together a couple of years ago. David and Buddy miss each other something fierce, and Sara and I like each other lots too, so when they said that they were coming up to Seattle to visit to celebrate Buddy's birthday, we were excited! Within minutes of arriving David took them on a hike up Mount Si, which ended up being no small feat. Good thing they're all tough! Sara just won her gym's competition recently and she is ripped!
It's not exactly the best time of year for visiting the PNW but we showed them the sites as best we could. We took them to Din Tai Fung because, well, it's the best dim sum ever. And, being from Arizona, they don't have a lot of exposure to excellent dim sum but as much as I love dim sum, I sure miss a good burrito!
Of course, we also took them to Snoqualmie Falls because it's always such a beautiful place to visit any time of year. We drank hot chocolate and froze just a little bit. :)
And then, because I'm the greatest friend ever, I made them a fancy dinner of grilled rib eye steaks, sauteed green beans, homemade macaroni and cheese and marbled pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust as a birthday celebration for Buddy. Man, looking back at this picture makes me want to crawl back into that meal and eat it again. That sounds weird but it was really delicious!
Good friends are a gem and we love having visitors!
